Diving at Strømsholmen began in 1981, when Olav Magne Strømsholm established a small dive center on the island that had been in his family for generations. Since then, the site has developed into a well-established sea sports center located directly on the Atlantic Ocean Road, offering a wide range of ocean-based activities in a spectacular coastal setting.
In 1989, when the Atlantic Road was completed, Olav moved to the island full time with his family to run the business. While he leads the diving, fishing, and sea excursions, his wife, Solveig Molvik – who has extensive experience from Norway’s oil and shipping industries – manages the day-to-day operations from the main house on the island. Together, they have built a business rooted in passion for the sea, practical experience, and personal commitment.
In the early 1990s, Strømsholmen also pioneered Norway’s first expeditions to swim with wild orcas. Today, we still organize seasonal orca expeditions in Northern Norway, giving guests the opportunity to encounter these magnificent animals in their natural environment – safely and responsibly.
