Strømsholmen Seasport Center offers world-class diving along the iconic Atlantic Ocean Road.

Strømsholmen Seasport Center is located on the iconic Atlantic Ocean Road — one of Norway’s most scenic coastal routes — and has served as a base for diving adventures since 1981. Surrounded by rugged coastline and open ocean, it’s the perfect gateway to some of the most exciting underwater experiences in Norway.

With over 100 dive sites within close range, the area offers remarkable variety for certified divers. You can explore dramatic drop-offs, underwater canyons, rich kelp forests, and shipwrecks. The famous drift dive under the Vevang Bridge is a favorite among experienced divers, and the local seal colony offers a rare opportunity to dive alongside curious marine mammals.

Thanks to the influence of the Gulf Stream, the waters here are surprisingly rich in marine life. Divers can expect to encounter soft corals, nudibranchs, sea stars, jellyfish, crabs, and a wide range of fish — in fact, more than 1.400 species have been recorded in the area. The combination of clear water and diverse habitats makes this region ideal for nature lovers, macro photographers, and adventure seekers alike.

We offer daily guided boat trips during the high season, each including one dive per outing, specifically for certified and experienced divers. Whether you prefer diving in a wetsuit or drysuit, we have a full range of rental equipment available — including 18 complete sets — and our boats can accommodate 18–30 divers. Please note that a minimum of four divers is required per booking, and all participants must have prior experience. Our instructors do not accompany divers on daily trips or individual dives, as their focus is on teaching courses. All divers must present a valid certification (PADI, CMAS, or equivalent).

Strømsholmen’s seaside facilities include:

Compressor room with two 200/300 bar compressors (capacity 700 l/min) and an air bank with 120,000 liters of air

Workshop and drying room for diving suits

Secure storage for dive accessories

Showers and toilets

Dockside access close to dressing rooms

Dive equipment rental

PADI and CMAS dive school with experienced instructors and divemasters

Boat transport to more than 100 dive sites

As part of our commitment to sustainability and marine conservation, spearfishing or collecting marine life is not permitted at our regular guided dive sites. This helps preserve the unique biodiversity of the area for future divers to enjoy.

With its spectacular underwater landscapes, abundant marine life, and long diving tradition, Strømsholmen is truly a natural playground for divers — a place where every dive offers something new, and unforgettable adventures await beneath the surface.
